Ripple Donates $25 Million in RLUSD to Support U.S. Education Nonprofits

Blockchain firm Ripple has announced a $25 million donation in Ripple USD (RLUSD) to education-focused nonprofits DonorsChoose and Teach For America. The contribution aims to provide resources for teachers and students across the United States.
The donation will be processed through The Giving Block, a platform that facilitates cryptocurrency donations to nonprofits. DonorsChoose CEO Alix Guerrier highlighted the financial challenges teachers face, noting that many spend significant amounts out-of-pocket for classroom supplies. Ripple's contribution is intended to alleviate some of these burdens and enhance educational experiences.
Teach For America plans to utilize the funds to expand its Ignite Tutoring Fellows program, drive innovation through its Reinvention Lab, and provide financial assistance to prepare educators. CEO Aneesh Sohoni emphasized the importance of such support in fostering educational equity and innovation.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed hope that this initiative would inspire others to support education, especially during Teacher Appreciation Week. He stated, "We hope to inspire others to do the same, starting with Teacher Appreciation Week, and leading into the rest of the year to support students and teachers with the resources they need to build a stronger future for themselves and their communities."
This donation aligns with Ripple's ongoing commitment to social impact, building upon previous contributions to educational initiatives and financial inclusion projects.
